Health & Safety Disclaimer
Effective October 16, 2026
- Vankaro is a fitness app, not a medical service. We are not doctors, and nothing in the app is medical advice.
- Talk to your doctor before you start this or any exercise program, change your diet, or take on a challenge.
- Stop right away if you feel chest pain, dizziness, severe shortness of breath or sharp pain. In an emergency, call 911.
- You choose the weights and how hard you go. Exercise carries a risk of injury, and you take that risk on when you train.
Not medical advice
Vankaro (the app, the website and everything in them) provides general fitness and nutrition information for healthy adults. Vankaro, its makers and its coaches are not physicians, physical therapists, registered dietitians or other licensed health professionals. Jace, Nia, Marcus and Tessa are fictional coaching characters, not real trainers. Nothing in Vankaro is medical advice, a diagnosis or a treatment, and it is not a substitute for care from a qualified professional.
Consult a medical professional first
Always consult your physician or another qualified health professional before beginning any exercise program, changing your diet or calorie intake, or taking part in a challenge. This matters most if you are pregnant or recently gave birth; have or have had a heart condition, high blood pressure, diabetes, asthma, joint, bone or back problems, or an injury; take medication; are over 40 and new to exercise; or have been inactive for a long time. If your doctor tells you to avoid or change any exercise, follow your doctor's advice over the app.
Listen to your body
Stop exercising immediately and seek medical help if you feel chest pain or pressure, severe shortness of breath, dizziness, light-headedness, nausea, or sharp or unusual pain. In an emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number. Marking a set as painful in the app is not a substitute for getting it checked.
How the recommendations work
Weights, sets, reps, rest times, calorie and protein targets, step goals and challenges in Vankaro are general estimates produced by fixed rules from the information you enter. They are not tailored to your medical history and can be wrong. You are responsible for choosing weights you can control with good form, using equipment safely, warming up, using a spotter where needed, and training within your limits.
Nutrition
Calorie, protein and meal suggestions are estimates for healthy adults. They are not suitable if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have or have had an eating disorder, have diabetes, kidney disease or another condition that affects your diet, or follow a medically prescribed diet. Consult a registered dietitian or your doctor before following them.
Challenges
Some challenges, such as the Murph, are very demanding even for experienced athletes. Only attempt them with your doctor's approval, choose a scaled version you can complete safely, and stop if anything feels wrong. Weighted vests add significant strain and are optional.
Age
Vankaro is intended for adults 18 years of age or older.
Assumption of risk
Physical exercise carries an inherent risk of injury, illness and, in rare cases, death. By using Vankaro you voluntarily accept these risks. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Vankaro and its makers are not liable for any injury, loss or damage arising from your use of the app, the website or any exercise, nutrition or challenge information in them.
